Farm gear, steel, plant, marine and industrial work blasted and coated from our Timaru workshop, with onsite crews across the South Island.
Dropped a stock crate and hay feeders off Monday, back on the truck Thursday. Finish is miles better than the coating they came with.Dave R., Washdyke
From the blast booth to the spray shop, we handle steel, rock, timber, glass and all sorts of industrial work, in the workshop or onsite across the South Island.

Grit blasting steel, rock, timber and glass back to a sound surface. Structural steel, trailers, machinery frames, tanks and farm gear all go through the booth.

Wet and high-pressure blasting for plant, tanks, concrete and building exteriors. Salt, grime and loose coating off before anything gets painted.

Epoxies, zinc primers and two-pack systems from International Protective Coating (Akzo Nobel), Carboline and Resene Automotive.

Arc-spray, steelwork and machinery finished under cover in three separate spray booths, with onsite blasting and painting when the job cannot travel.

Beams, gantries, silos, conveyors and handrails blasted and re-coated on a maintenance cycle, so a line isn’t shut down twice for the same steel.

Rusted, flaking or previously painted steel taken right back and checked over before the first coat goes anywhere near it.
From a single stock crate to a run of structural steel or a full plant shutdown.

16 Shaw Street, Timaru
Blastcraft Limited has been blasting and coating in Timaru since 1984. Andrew Larsen and Mark Johnson have more than 25 years’ experience between them, and took full ownership in 2021 after running the business for many years before that.
Andrew and Mark both quote and schedule the work, and both stay hands-on on the shop floor, in the yard and on site. They handle farm gear, trailers, structural steel, plant, machinery and industrial work, with crews travelling across the South Island.
Facilities include a 14m x 14m blast booth, three separate spray booths, and onsite blasting and painting. The team is trained in heights and EWP work, confined spaces and Totika requirements.
Ring the office and you’re talking to an owner, not a call centre.

Hands on the nozzle and the gun. Shop work through the week, and on the road when the gear has to travel.
Blastcraft doesn’t have Google reviews posted yet, so the cards below are examples of the sort of feedback this work earns. Every real one you collect will show here instead.
Example reviews“Dropped a stock crate and a set of hay feeders off on the Monday, back on the truck Thursday. Finish is miles better than the coating they came with.”
“Rang about a rusted-out balustrade on a coastal build. They came and looked, quoted it in writing, and the price didn’t move at the end. Straightforward to deal with.”
“Our frames sit in salt air year round. Blastcraft blasted and re-coated the lot and two seasons on there’s still no rust bleeding through the paint.”
“Old cast iron bath, blasted back and sprayed the colour I’d picked. They talked me through what would and wouldn’t hold up first, which I appreciated.”
Give us the size of the job and what it’s made of and we’ll tell you straight whether it’s a shop job or one we come to you for.
